What are You Making Room For?

What Are You Making Room For?
As I continue my journey through life, I've realized that making room isn't always about creating more physical space.
Sometimes it's about making room in our minds.
Sometimes it's about making room in our hearts.
And sometimes it's about making room for the person we are becoming.
Along the way, I've collected a few personal affirmations that continue to guide me. They aren't perfect. They aren't universal truths. They're simply lessons that resonate with me at this stage of my life.
If they resonate with you, receive them.
If they don't, throw them away.
1. Protect Your Peace
Someone once said to me:
"You protect your peace."
At first, I didn't fully understand what they meant.
But the more I reflected on it, the more I realized they were right.
When we're younger, many of us mistake excitement, chaos, drama, and constant activity as signs that we're truly living. We chase experiences, opinions, validation, and sometimes even conflict without realizing the cost.
As I've gotten older, I've come to appreciate something different.
Peace.
Not because life becomes easier, but because time becomes more valuable.
You begin to realize that not every argument deserves your attention. Not every invitation deserves your energy. Not every opinion deserves a response.
Protecting your peace isn't about building walls.
It's about carrying a shield.
A shield that allows you to move through life with intention rather than reaction.
Nothing lasts forever.
Which makes every peaceful morning, every quiet conversation, every meaningful connection, and every moment of gratitude feel that much more valuable.
Protect your peace.
It may be one of the most important investments you ever make.
2. You Don't Always Have to Win
This one took me a while to learn.
We all encounter bottlenecks.
Office politics.
Hierarchy.
Misunderstandings.
Moments when we feel overlooked or underappreciated.
Our natural instinct is often to prove ourselves right.
To win.
To be recognized.
But what if winning isn't always the point?
What if growth is?
There have been times in my life when I wanted something so badly that I couldn't understand why it wasn't happening.
Now I see things differently.
Not everything is meant for us.
Some opportunities are stepping stones.
Others are distractions.
Your worth isn't determined by every outcome.
Your value isn't measured by every victory.
Trust your instincts.
Know your worth.
Keep moving forward.
The people, places, and opportunities meant for you won't require you to lose yourself in the process.
Sometimes the strongest move isn't winning.
Sometimes it's simply continuing forward.
3. The Universe Always Has Your Back
This affirmation has brought me comfort more times than I can count.
A missed opportunity.
A meeting that didn't go as planned.
A door that closed unexpectedly.
A situation that simply didn't feel right.
In those moments, it can feel as though life is working against us.
But what if it's actually working for us?
What if the opportunity you lost was creating room for the opportunity you truly needed?
I've come to believe that you cannot lose what is genuinely meant for you.
Life has a way of redirecting us.
Sometimes gently.
Sometimes forcefully.
Sometimes through courage.
Sometimes through tears.
Sometimes through the roar of our voice.
And sometimes through peaceful surrender.
Growth often arrives disguised as disappointment.
Expansion often arrives disguised as uncertainty.
The universe isn't always removing things from your path.
Sometimes it's clearing the path entirely.
What Are You Making Room For?
Maybe you're making room for peace.
Maybe you're making room for courage.
Maybe you're making room for a new chapter.
A new dream.
A new possibility.
Or perhaps you're simply making room to discover who you truly are.
For me, tiny home living, intentional living, and simplifying life have never really been about having less.
They've been about creating space.
Space for clarity.
Space for purpose.
Space for growth.
Space for the life I want to live.
So I'll leave you with this question:
What are you making room for?
Whatever the answer may be, trust yourself enough to follow it.
Sometimes all it takes is one thought.
One idea.
And the courage to follow where it leads.
